At the bed and breakfast place I finally figured out

with an unfamiliar smell in the air

On the train all day, the train all night
they fed me spaghetti - what a nice surprise!
Happiness is easy as a fine Italian chick
but all Italian girls are Catholic

It's weird over here
Roman ruins everywhere
and an unfamiliar tongue in my ear
