Danny
Kortchmar was born in New York City, USA in 1946.
Sometimes credited as Danny Kootch or Dan Kootch or Kootch (following his teenage nickname), he first emerged as a member of several aspiring New York '60s groups, as the Kingbees and Flying Machine, the latter of which featured his fellow James Taylor. In 1967, Kootch joined bassist Charles Larkey in the Fugs, then both moved to California, and they formed with songwriter Carole King, the City. From Alda's Kootch Page |
