Regular Daydreams - Peter Himmelman
It's a regular Monday just like any other Monday
The sky's not too blue and it's not too grey
The radio is playin' a very normal song
There's probably a million normal people
just singin' right along, yeah...
The sprinklers are out and
the lawns are freshly mowed
There's a regular blue car
driving slowly down the road
There's white toast on the table and
a regular glass of juice
The kitchen faucet's drippin' now,
something must be loose...
And I'm lookin' for the face of G-d to appear
I wanna watch a jumbo jet explode in the air
I want the sycamore trees to pull their roots
out of the ground and fly fly away...
The magazines in the bathroom have been
read a thousand times
The moths fly in circle near the doorbell chimes
The neighbors are playin' Yahtzee
and drinkin' iced tea
And I've just read the phone book from A to Z
But you know I'm lookin' for
the face of G-d to appear
I wanna watch a jumbo jet explode in the air
I want the sycamore trees to pull their roots
out of the ground and fly fly away...
This year's like a photograph, static and still
You can only think of dying with
this much time to kill
But you know I'm lookin' for
the face of G-d to appear
I wanna watch a jumbo jet explode in the air
I want the sycamore trees to pull their roots
out of the ground and fly fly away...
